Henrietta Wayne studied music at York University. It was there that she became interested in the baroque violin, studied with Ingrid Seifert and Catherine Mackintosh and founded the Amati Ensemble, a group specialising in the trio sonata repertoire.
Since moving to London, she has established herself as a busy freelance violinist and regular member of The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Sir John Eliot Gardiner's English Baroque Soloists and the Gabrieli Consort and Players. Henrietta plays in the recently formed chamber group Kontrabande and is closely involved with The Buxtehude Project which aims to perform all of Buxtehude's church and chamber music over the next few years.
Recently, Henrietta has become involved with The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment's education programme and has worked in junior, secondary and special needs schools. In August 2000, she ran a day of Baroque Dance for the South Bank Centre as part of their 'Blazing' Festival. In 2002 she played with the orchestra in performances of Rodelinda and Fidelio under Christie and Rattle at the Chatelet Theatre in Paris and again at Glyndebourne during the summer in operas by Gluck and Weber.
